Depression and anxiety
Based on my personal experience

Running! A race which never seems to get over..

Hollow! Like a creature eating you away from the inside..

Sick! Forever dealing with nausea, upset stomach, excessive sweating...

Unsteady! Feel like the whole world is spinning really fast and you are in no control of anything..

Sounds really dramatic right?

Well, a person who suffers from anxiety and depression feel this every single day, pretty much all the time!

They constantly feel that they are not good enough, lack confidence, always worrying, feeling tired, sleepy, lonely, lack motivation and lots more!

Being in a constant state of anxiety is like being stalked by an invisible predator, and the feeling of being in danger never goes away!

"Anxiety is all in your mind!"
"You need to be mentally strong!"
"You look perfectly fine & healthy. Stop doing drama!"
"These are all attention seeking tactics!"

Anyone who is/has dealt with anxiety, would have heard these few statements from someone, at some point of time in their lives.

Anxiety is a real thing! Rather than passing your expert comments and making a person's condition worse, help them! Talk to them!

Anxiety is a personality disorder and not a self created illness. It works as a disguise of other feelings such as anger or grief! It can trigger and show signs at any age!

Suffering from anxiety is no joke! It takes a lot of strength and courage to pull yourself out of bed every morning after the rollercoaster of feelings and emotions, and go about the entire day..

Anxiety and depression can be controlled, but never completely removed from your system.

So, doing things which comfort and help control your triggers and symptoms is important.

  • Meditation

A state where your body is in "Pause Mode", and all your muscles relax by keeping your eyes closed and taking deep breaths. This will help calm you down from the chaos all around, and fade away your worries slowly.

  • Sleep

Dealing with anxiety and depression is like you are constantly doing a vigorous workout! This can get really exhausting, and leaves you with no energy to do anything. A good night's sleep is extremely important to get your body and mind in sync. As easy as it may sound, people dealing with anxiety suffer from insomnia, and no matter what, the thoughts just won't let you fall asleep! But, trying things like meditation, or listening to soft soothing music before going to bed might help calm you down.

  • Talk it out

Venting out your feelings and emotions to someone who you can trust, helps calm your mind and relax. It feels like a heavy load off your chest! It is okay to talk to a therapist if you feel judged by talking to the people who personally know you.

  • Love yourself

You are so strong, to be able to deal with a storm of emotions all by yourself! Thank, and show yourself some love! Simple things like a hot shower, getting a head massage, buying yourself a beautiful dress, ETC; can lighten the mood and help you feel good about yourself! After all, there is only one YOU!

Dance, sing, paint, eat ice-creams, dress up for no reason, travel....

Do things which bring a smile on that gorgeous face of yours!

Remember, I am here for you if you ever need me..

Standing there with my arms wide open to give you a tight warm hug!

Well written. I liked the last part, where you vouch to be there for the one who needs help. I knew one, who was always there for me, and I believe he still is, if you believe.
